  These files and resources are offered in conjunction with the workshop, "Advanced Data Wrangling: Tips, tricks and software for creating perfect tab-delimited metadata files for batch loading into CONTENTdm.

Files for Downloading:

  • preflight.zip (493KB)
    Zip archive containing the "Preflight.exe" program file along with documentation and example files to practice with. No installer needed--just unzip this in a folder on your hard drive (I created one in my
    "Program Files" folder) and create a shortcut to the application on your desktop. Included in the ZIP archive are the documentation and example to get the user started.

  • Directory List Utility.xls
    Excel workbook that allows user to create spreadsheet cell information from the contents of computers file directories (folders). Very useful for creating lists of digital assets. Allows the user to essentially create a database of folder contents with a few Excel actions.

    Instructional document with samples of Excel formulas and their usage in working with data .
