OLIVER Indexed Text Search System
A New "Smart Search" System for finding HMML
Manuscripts
Database search systems evolve over time. Inspired by the ease of
use of Google, and noticing that many computer users now tend to
search for things using that type of "keyword" search, HMML decided
to try to create a "Google-style" keyword search for its manuscript
records. We welcome
constructive feedback on the system.
Clicking on the link below will take you to the new system. The
search type, "All Word," is the default method, as this behaves most
like Google, Bing, etc. Then, enter search terms in the box. You can use
the wildcard "*" to broaden the search results. For example, searching
for "August*" will bring back results containing "Augustus,"
"Augustinian," and so forth.
If you are searching for
names with accented Latin alphabetic characters, simply type the
"root" character--the system will retrieve both unaccented and
accented characters.
