Opportunities for Scholars   Irma Wyman Internships
The Hill Museum & Manuscript Library, with help from generous friends, offers a number of opportunities for scholars to visit HMML for first-hand study opportunities. Current opportunities include:

The Irma Wyman Internships for Students of the College of Saint Benedict
The Hill Museum & Manuscript Library (HMML) provides undergraduate women at the College of Saint Benedict a unique opportunity by offering two summer internships in development and in educational programs/outreach. The interns learn about working in development or educational programs/outreach at a not-for-profit organization while learning about the library and how it functions.

These internships are made possible through the generosity of Irma Wyman.

The Irma Wyman Internship in Development at the Hill Museum & Manuscript Library for College of Saint Benedict Students
The student signing on for this internship in Development will be provided numerous opportunities for learning the theory and practice of fundraising for a not-for-profit organization. The intern will experience first hand the funding challenges faced by HMML and play a part in designing a strategy to meet the funding targets. The student is not expected to nor will she solicit funds directly for HMML.

  • The intern’s entire learning experience will take place within the context of HMML.
  • The intern will be involved in accessing a donor’s past giving record.
  • The intern will research and compile data on corporate foundations.
  • When appropriate, the intern will accompany the Development Officer in on-site visits to Library donors.
  • The intern will assist in the design and maintenance of campaign records.
  • All donors and the associated financial data will be held in strict confidence.
  • Other appropriate duties may be assigned.
