The HMML Manuscript Catalogue
 This online catalogue contains information on over 90,000 codices and over 250,000 texts (works) in the HMML collection. New records are added weekly. As a work in progress there are errata and potentially inaccurate entries. HMML welcomes corrections from users. Include the source number and the name of the field that needs correction and send to HMML. We recommend reading Tips for Searching the Catalogue before you start.

Enter keyword or words in form below. Do not add any Boolean operators between words. This form searches all the descriptive fields in the three main tables of the manuscript database (manuscripts, parts, and texts). Use one search term or string at a time. NOTE: This is a comprehensive search, so general terms may result in many, many matching records.
  
Manuscript Shelfmark Search

Want to find a particular manuscript shelfmark? Try our shelfmark search form. It allows the user to search for shelfmarks while limiting results by city or library.


Detailed Manuscript Text Search

This form searches for texts within manuscripts. Enter information in as many fields as you wish; it's best to start with fewer form entries and narrow your choices using the drop-down selectors. Resulting text records have links to the "parent" manuscript records.
  Clear Form     

In addition to creating records for each manuscript and text, HMML also created records for over 43,000 miniatures, illuminated capitals, and text decorations found in the manuscripts imaged. Search results show image records, with links to their "parent" manuscript records.
