Samaritan Hebrew Manuscript, Deuteronomy

This folio from a Samaritan Hebrew manuscript contains on the recto side Deuteronomy 4:49-5:11, and on the verso (the side shown here) 5:12-5:21. It is worth noting that Deuteronomy 5:21 is longer in the Samaritan tradition than in the traditional Hebrew text. A note in English on this side says that the folio was acquired in Nablus in 1864 “at some expenditure of arrack [an anise-flavored liquor] and other considerations.”
