This engraved, hand-colored and hand-lettered map is a companion to the Plans des vieilles et nouvelles fortif de Malthe, which shows the fortifications of Valletta. This map illustrates the growth of settlement on the islands of Malta and Gozo – due in part to the fortifications, but also to the construction of the Wignacourt aqueduct.
